This exciting update aims to simplify the process of creating engaging Reels by providing users with a wide array of templates to choose from.
With the Template Browser, Instagram users can now easily explore templates categorized under Recommended, Trending, and those saved by creators. This feature allows users to browse through a variety of templates and audio options, providing ample inspiration for their next Reel.
To access the Template Browser, users can follow these simple steps:
- Tap on the Create button from the home page.
- Select “REEL.”
- Open your camera gallery by tapping the image in the lower-left corner of the screen.
- Tap on “Templates.”
Alternatively, users can access the Template Browser through the Reels Tab by tapping on the camera icon and selecting “Templates.” Instagram also offers the option for creators to borrow templates from other Reels that catch their interest while browsing the platform. By tapping the “Use Template” button on a Reel, creators can effortlessly incorporate templates into their own creations.
Furthermore, Instagram provides a peek into how others have utilized templates by tapping on the “Template by” button in a Reel. This feature showcases various creative uses of the template, offering inspiration and encouraging experimentation. Notably, TikTok also offers a similar feature on its platform, allowing creators to apply templates and effects.
Instagram is committed to enhancing the creation and editing experience for templates. When creators use a template, the audio, number of clips, duration of the clips, and AR effects will be automatically incorporated into their Reel. Additionally, Instagram plans to introduce a forthcoming feature where text and transitions from the original Reel can be seamlessly copied to the template. Users will have the freedom to modify templates by adjusting clip duration, deleting clips, or modifying preset elements.
The platform’s dedication to improving the Reels experience doesn’t end there. Instagram now enables users to download Reels created by others and share them on different platforms. By clicking the share button and selecting the Download option, users can effortlessly save Reels to their devices. This feature, long available on TikTok, allows for easy sharing of short videos across various platforms.
