New Delhi: Apple is reportedly installing its tetraprism 5x zoom lens for the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models. The zoom lens will be available only for Pro and Pro Max variants. Apple is reportedly partnering up with Largan Precision and Genius Electronic Optical (GSEO) for these new camera modules.
Apple had put an over-the-line camera setup in the iPhone 15 Pro Max as well. The 5x periscope telephoto comes with a 1/3.06″ sensor. Naturally, the buzz around the camera persists with the new line of iPhones as well.

Tech experts believe that the Tetraprism telephoto modules will allow for a larger aperture which makes the sensor more sensitive to light. So, with this new lens, customers can take good shots in the low light conditions. Moreover, it is also believed that the new model will have a longer zoom in comparison to the previous models.
The next upgrade in the tetraprism line is expected to come out in the iPhone 19 series. Anonymous sources say that there will be additional prisms in the model. However, the company has not confirmed the same.
