Launch of Jio AirFiber: Know the details on features, pricing, and differentiation from JioFiber

This service is ideal for lag-free HD video streaming, online gaming, and business video conferencing because of its fast rates of up to 1.5 Gbps.

New Delhi: The Jio AirFiber wireless internet solution from Reliance Jio is all set to be launched on September 19, 2023.

Reliance Industries chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani said during the company’s 2023 Annual General Meeting that the launch of Jio AirFiber will coincide with the Hindu holiday of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Features of Jio AirFiber

Jio AirFiber is a modern way for the company to provide wireless internet service, and it does so by relying on 5G technology to provide lightning-fast download and upload speeds. Users have the option of accessing speeds up to 1 Gbps, which is on par with more conventional fibre-optic connections.

This service is ideal for lag-free HD video streaming, online gaming, and business video conferencing because of its fast rates of up to 1.5 Gbps.

Parental controls, Wi-Fi 6 capability, and a built-in firewall are just some of the features of Jio AirFiber.

Jio emphasises that consumers need just plug in Jio AirFiber and switch it on to begin using it.

Pricing of Jio AirFiber

It is anticipated that Jio AirFiber will cost roughly Rs 6,000, making it a competitive option. The added cost of a mobile device unit might make this service more costly than a standard internet connection.

JioFiber vs. Jio AirFiber

Technology: Instead of wired fibre optic cables like JioFiber, Jio AirFiber uses point-to-point radio communication. AirFiber directly links homes and workplaces to Jio using wireless signals, bypassing fibre connections, and relying on line-of-sight contact with Jio towers.

Speed: While Jio Fiber only offers 1 Gbps, Jio AirFiber can reach speeds of up to 1.5 Gbps. Actual Jio AirFiber speeds may vary depending on the physical distance from the closest tower.

Coverage: Although Jio Fiber has a wider reach, it is not yet accessible in all areas. Jio AirFiber, on the other hand, may provide far-reaching coverage since it uses wireless technology rather than relying on preexisting wired networks.

Installation: The plug-and-play nature of Jio AirFiber makes it more convenient and accessible to users. Jio Fiber, on the other hand, usually requires the assistance of a professional installer.
