NASA releases audio of what a black hole 250 million lightyears away sounds like, and its super creepy!

34-second audio clip appears to be much more like a fusion of ghostly wails and alien moans as if being captured from a creepy horror movie

New Delhi: Most of us have often wondered what a black hole sounds like, and for a long period of time many of us have believed that it is grimly silent since soundwaves can’t travel in space owing it to be a vacuum.

However, after releasing several never-seen-before pics of Jupiter on Tuesday, NASA has brought yet another exciting revelation about space.

The American space agency has released an audio clip of what a black hole at Perseus sounds like, which happens to be 250 million lightyears away from the earth.

Since there’s nothing to vibrate off in space, the gas around the black hole has made it possible for the scientist to record the unique sounds.

While human ears are unable to catch the sound ripples, NASA captured them using its advanced equipment and technology, though the result turned out to be unexpectedly eerie.

The 34-second audio clip appears to be much more like a fusion of ghostly wails and alien moans as if being captured straight from the sets of a creepy horror movie.

“The misconception that there is no sound in space originates because most space is a ~vacuum, providing no way for sound waves to travel. A galaxy cluster has so much gas that we’ve picked up actual sound. Here it’s amplified, and mixed with other data, to hear a black hole!”, NASA wrote while sharing the audio on Twitter.

On Tuesday, the space agency had released some striking images of the largest planet of our solar system, i.e. Jupiter. Pictures had gone viral on various social media platforms as soon as they surfaced online.
