UK woman claims Apple watch saved her life by ‘alerting’: Report

Considering this, on numerous occasions, the Apple Watch had already conclusively demonstrated to be a lifesaver. It has garnered numerous reports of it saving lives by detecting anomalies in users’ health utilizing sensors that monitor heart rate, ECG, and other parameters.

In one recent case, a woman in the United Kingdom alleged that her Apple Watch helped her survive by alerting her to an unidentified heart problem.

According to the reports, a 59-year-old lady based in the UK named Elaine Thompson has been using the Apple watch since 2022 just to monitor her health condition.

Recently, she experienced her watch has detected and alerted her about something wrong with her health. The apple watch has detected an irregularity in Mrs. Thompson’s heart rhythm.

She quickly saw a cardiologist and was provided a heart rate monitor to wear for one week. In one case, the tracker sent an alarm signal to the hospital, indicating that she had a flatline in her heart rate for 19 seconds while sleeping.

Mrs. Thompson was taken to the hospital, where doctors recognized her with an atrioventricular block, which did cause the heart to beat more steadily and irregularly. According to the NHS, it is a serious complication that can occasionally be classified as a medical emergency. To help with the condition, a pacemaker was implanted.

The woman now claims that her Apple Watch alerted her to the problem. According to her, it is a life savior.
