New Delhi: Vi (Vodafone Idea) on Monday introduced new prepaid plans of Rs 499 and Rs 1,066. Those who subscribe to the new plans will also get an additional benefit of accessing Disney+ Hotstar. Notably, this came after Vi’s rival telecom company Reliance Jio launched a new plan of Rs 555. Jio’s plan also includes a one-year subscription to the OTT platform.
Before we dive into details, we must tell you that both the plan of the companies allow customers to watch the ongoing IPL tournament, begun on March 26.
Benefits of Vi’s Rs. 499 and Rs. 1066 prepaid plans
Under the plan of Rs 499 by Vi, a user will get 2GB of data per day for 28 days. In addition to this, one also gets unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, and a one-year Disney+ Hotstar Mobile subscription.
If you chose the plan of Rs 1,066 by Vodafone, the company offers 2GB of data per day with a validity of 84 days. The Plan includes unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, and a one-year Disney+ Hotstar Mobile subscription.
Difference between Vi and Jio Plan
On subscribing to Reliance Jio’s plan of 555, one receives 1GB of data per day for 55 days unlike Vi’s 2GB per day for 28 days.

It is easy to understand Jio is offering fewer data in comparison to Vi’s plan. However, the plan will be valid for 55 days.
Newly launched one month plan of Jio
India’s largest telecom operator Reliance Jio on Monday launched Rs 259 plan with a calendar month validity. This makes it the first operator in India to do so.
A calendar month means a whole month — irrespective of whether a month has 30 days or 31 days.
This new plan comes bundled with unlimited calling and 1.5 GB of daily data and other benefits.
