Grand temple being built in Abu Dhabi, to ‘stand intact’ for 1,000 years (VIDEO)

New Delhi : A Hindu Temple is under construction in the capital of United Arab of Emirates (UAE), Abu Dhabi. As per the reports, the temple whose first phase of construction has already been completed, will be UAE’s first traditional temple carved out of stones.

The BAPS Hindu Temple Abu Dhabi Project members claims that the temple would remain in a good condition for next thousand years.

Now that the first phase of the construction (foundation) is completed, carved stones and marbles will be placed to shape the temple. As per the report by Gulf News, the pictures of the final design and the hand-carved stone pillars of the traditional temples, which have been made in India, were released in November last year. Artists from Gujarat and Rajasthan have carved the stones in India.

A range of stones, from Italy’s Macedonia to the pink stone of Rajasthan will be used in the interior of the temple. Photos from the Hindu epics and folk stories will be depicted in the temple as well.

In conversation with Khaleej times, the project members said the work of installing the pink stones will be started after the arrival of artisans from Indian. Religious leader and spokesperson of BAPS Hindu Temple Pujya Brahmavihari Swamy further said, “A thick layer of sandstone has been laid on the land of the temple located in Abu Mureikhah”.

Project structural engineer Dr Kong Sia Keong said, “I am honored to be part of this team as it is the first time a project is being worked on that will last at least 1000 years. Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) organization is constructing this temple at a cost of 450 dirhams i.e. about 888 crore rupees”.
