In America's Florida, hospitals and funeral homes run out of space for dead bodies; World media silent
New Delhi: With the Covid death figure astronomically rising up, America has plunged into a deep crisis. Hospitals and funeral homes are running out of spaces in Florida. There is no room left in the morgues to keep dead bodies. Covid has run havoc in this state with dead bodies piling up each and every day. Florida has also been facing an acute scarcity of oxygen supply. Oxygen shortage has caused more deaths than expected and this number is continuously growing.
The data is really alarming. Florida has witnessed an average of 227 Covid deaths a day. This has broken all previous records. Tragedy has surpassed all limits as hospitals are forced to hire refrigerated coolers to keep the dead. Morgue are already overloaded and body has been stacked up to the ceiling. Irony has crossed all limits as the foreign as well as Indian left-liberal media is completely silent over the ongoing worst humanitarian crisis in the world. No publication has bothered to make it an agenda and question the Biden administration.
This is the same lot who advertised burning pyres in Indian crematoriums the world over. They one-sided declared Indian tragedy as the grim proof of systematic failure and collapse of governance. Now in Florida, the situation has turned so bad that it has led to a severe water crisis in the city. Orlando city’s mayor has even asked residents to conserve water so that there is less strain on the supply of liquid oxygen.
The liquid oxygen is very much precious to continuously maintain the flow of water supply. It is used to purify local drinking water as well as to treat Covid patients. The city administration has given a call for less use of water with the perception that if the people will use less water, the liquid oxygen could be diverted to hospitals for medical use.
The seriousness of the situation is very much established by the data released by the Florida Hospital Association. The data says that 68 hospitals in the state had oxygen supplies of fewer than 48 hours, with almost half having supplies of less than 36 hours. There are genuine concerns that the situation will get worse as oxygen, vital to keep Covid patients stable, is in very short supply.
The US, as a country, has been facing the worst ever crisis of such type. The total number of people hospitalised due to the virus in the US at present crossed 1 lakh on Thursday. The country witnessed a 12% increase in new cases over the past week, but the rise in deaths was up 23%. The need to hold bodies for longer is the need of the hour as funeral homes are overburdened. The salt to the wound is that even refrigerated coolers are quickly becoming filled too.
Biden administration has been facing flak over abrupt mishandling of the situation. Masks are not mandatory. Schools are running with students wearing no masks. Even people are not taking precautions or even the vaccine. But all these dangerous outcomes are of no use to the agenda-driven journalism which selectively targets India and exonerates America.
