New Delhi: The auspicious occasion of Karwa Chauth is just around the corner and preparations have started in full swing.
On this day, married women keep fast for the their husbands’ long life and prosperity.
In various parts of the Country, Karwa Chauth is also known as Karak Chaturthi. According to the Hindu lunisolar calendar month of Kartik, the special day falls on the fourth day after the full moon.
This year Karwa Cauth or Karak Chaturthi will be celebrated in the second week of October, but like several festivals like Rakshabandhan, Janmasthmi there is yet again confusion about the time and date weather it’s on October 13 or October 14.
Karwa Chauth 2022: When to fast on October 13 or October 14?
According to Hindu calendar, Karwa Chauth fast is observed on the fourth day of Krishna Paksha Chaturthi in the Hindu month of Kartik. On this day married women keep fast from the time of sunrise and break their fast after looking at the moon and seeking blessings of Goddess Parvati for the long life of their husbands.
This year, Karwa Chauth will be observed on October 13 and its on this day that married women should keep a fast for their husband. On this day, women also worship Karwa Maata for the long life of their husbands.
