Mohini Eksdashi 2023: Date, Time, Significance, Check the Subh Muhurat

As per the Hindu Panchang, Mohini Ekadasi will be observed on May 1, 2023.

New Delhi: Mohini Ekadashi is considered the most felicitous occasion according to Hindu belief. It is observed during the Shukla Paksha of Vaishakh month and is believed to be an auspicious event.

According to Hindu text, it is believed that on this day Lord Vishnu took the form of a nymph Mohini. Therefore devotees of Lord Vishnu observe fast the whole day and worship lord Vishnu.

Mohini Ekadashi 2023:  Date and Time

As per the Hindu Panchang, Mohini Ekadasi will be observed on May 1, 2023. The Tithi will start at 12:58 AM on May 1 and will end at 2:39 AM on the next day. The prime time to break the fast starts at 12:56 PM to 3:05 PM on May 2.

Prime time is also called Parana which signifies the end of the fast which is observed on the next day of Ekadashi i.e. Dwadashi. The fast gets over on the day of Dwadashi after sunrise and people offer water to the sun.

Mohini Ekadashi 2023: Rituals

Devotees start the day by worshiping lord Vishnu’s manifested avatar Mohini. They wake up early in the morning, take a bath and break their fast by offering water and flowers to the sun. Then they start worshiping the idol of lord Vishnu and start chanting Mantras. They offer Tulsi leaves, Prasad, flowers, and light Diyas and read the story of Ekadashi. Aarti is also performed by devotees,  They also donate food and clothes to the needy. The occasion has great significance in Hindu belief and is considered a pious day for doing charity.
