
New Delhi: A day after the death of former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry, industrialist in a tragic car accident, Anand Mahindra today posted a pledge on Twitter where he said “we all owe our families”.
His pledge comes a day after the reports that said Cyrus Mistry was sitting in the backseat and was not wearing his seat belt at the time when the mishap happened.
The chairman of the Mahindra Group, wrote, “I resolve to always wear my seat belt even when in the rear seat of the car. And I urge all of you to take that pledge too. We all owe it to our families.”
Cyrus Mistry, 54, died in an accident on Sunday (September 4) while he was returning from Ahmedabad to Mumbai. Cyrus Mistry, was traveling Darius Pandole, his wife Anahita Pandole and brother Jehangir Pandole.
Anahita Pandole, was driving the car.
According to the police it is said that Anahita Pandole may have lost control of the car while trying to overtake another vehicle at a high speed and hit a road divider.
Darius Pandole and Anahita Pandole were seriously injured and was rushed to a nearby hospital, while Cyrus Mistry and Jehangir Pandole were sitting at the back seat and was not wearing seat belts.
The last rites of Cyrus Mistry will be performed on tomorrow (September 6, Tuesday) at 10 am at Mumbai’ s Worli crematorium.
