Bajaj’s Aurangabad factory hit by Covid-19, 79 employees test positive; plant shuts down: Reports

a factory of Bajaj Auto in Aurangabad city of Maharashtra has been temporarily shut down after 79 employees at the facility were tested positive for Coronavirus.

New Delhi: As Maharashtra grapples with mushrooming cases of Covid-19, the pandemic has been spreading wings like wildfire. It has assumed shape of cluster outbreak and impact commercial and public offices now.

Yesterday, 38 policemen of Maharashtra Police were tested positive, with 3 succumbing to disease in 24 hours.

Today, as per reports, a factory of Bajaj Auto in Aurangabad city of Maharashtra has been temporarily shut down after 79 employees at the facility were tested positive for Coronavirus. Ahmedabad has been among one of the badly affected districts with over 4,000 Covid-19 cases till now.

The Bajaj plant will remain closed on Saturday and Sunday, reported ABP Majha. It also reported of 2 casualties at the plant.

The whole plant will be thoroughly sanitized over next two days. It is likely to resume operations from Monday, however, the operations are expected to remain subdued for sometime.

Close to 1.5 Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra

Maharashtra is among the worst performing states, which added 4,841 cases to the burgeoning tally in last 24 hours.
