Hyundai Alcazar: 7-seater SUV unveiled, check expected price, engine, features

The Alcazar will come with a generous wheelbase, which Hyundai claims to be the company’s largest yet will support a 6-seater or a 7-seater configuration.

New Delhi: Hyundai India has unveiled the much awaited SUV, Alcazar by releasing images on their official social media handles. The Korean automaker also revealed the specifications of the car which will join the likes of brand’s other SUVs- Tucson, Creta and Venue. The only difference between Alcazar and the other three is that its Hyundai’s first product in the three-row segment. Hyundai is planning to launch Alcazar in India to create a niche offering while building on the success of Creta.

Engine and transmission

Alcazar is essentially based on Creta and two engine options will be offered to the customers. First is the 3rd Gen Nu 2-litre petrol engine with 159PS and 191 Nm of torque and second is the U2 1.5-litre diesel engine which will give out 115 Ps and torque of 250 Nm.

Both engines will come with an option of a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission. Hyundai claims that the six-speed automatic unit will offer a mixture of fuel efficiency and performance. The reason being the super flat torque converter which reduces losses during acceleration.

Features

 

Ride comfort and features being offered might be the biggest strength of the Alcazar, even after such good engine options. According to the Hyundai, hydraulic rebound stopper in front strut will give a better rebound control which, in turn, will ensure a plush ride experience. Also, the steering effort mapping will be different for each driving mode – Eco, City and Sport.

The list of features has not been revealed yet but the customers should expect a large infotainment screen, wireless charging, air purifier among others which have been a part of most of the newer Hyundai products in India.

Number of seats

The Alcazar will come with a generous wheelbase, which Hyundai claims to be the company’s largest yet. SUV will be offered in six and seven-set configurations, as the company aims to provide more leg space for passengers in the middle and last row with their new wheelbase. Middle-row console armrest, sliding seats and similar highlights will also be present to prop Alcazar as a premium product.

Launch Date

It is expected that Hyundai will launch its new SUV in the country soon as primarily it is meant for the Indian market. Hyundai might export the card to select foreign markets in future.
