“I Like Tunnels, But Frankly…”: Anand Mahindra urges Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to create ‘trunnels’ in India

New Delhi: The chairman of Indian automaker firm and industrialist Anand Mahindra is indeed a passionate social media user and his online posts often create a massive buzz on the internet.

In a recent tweet, Mahindra retweeted an astonishing video clip of a tunnel with trees planted on both sides of it, also called a ‘trunnel’, giving it a satisfying scenic appearance.

Mahindra further urges the Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to ‘purposefully’ create such trunnels in the upcoming projects by his department.

Since the video surfaced online, it took the social media by storm with the post managing to garner over 2 million views and 37,000+ likes yet.

“I like tunnels, but frankly, I’d much rather go through this kind of ‘Trunnel’ …@nitin_gadkari ji, can we plan to purposefully plant some of these trunnels on the new rural roads you are building?”, Mahindra tweeted.

“This type of tunnel are more beautifully located on Omkareshwar road”, a user wrote while sharing a video on similar note.
