New Delhi: In most part of the country, banks will remain closed from April 13 till April 16 due to various festivals. This was mentioned in the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar and are declared under Negotiable Instruments Act. The banking holidays differ from state to state as they depend on which states observe the festival as a holiday.
Banks to remain closed on April 13
Occasion: Gudhi Padwa/Telugu New Year’s Day/Ugadi Festival/Sajibu Nongmapanba (Cheiraoba)/1st Navratra/Baisakhi
Banks will remain closed in Belapur, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jammu, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Srinagar.
Banks to remain closed on April 14
Occasion: Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti/Tamil New Year’s Day/Vishu/Biju Festival/Cheiraoba/Bohag Bihu
Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Panaji, Patna, Ranchi, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram
Banks to remain closed on April 15
Occasion: Himachal Day/Bengali New Year’s Day/Bohag Bihu/Sarhul
Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Guwahati, Kolkata, Ranchi and Shimla

Other Holidays in April
Apart from these banks will remain closed on 21 April and 24 April on account of Ram Navmi and Second Saturday respectively.
Earlier, RBI issued a notification which said that banking operations will remain closed on several occasions in the month of April 2021. Ram Navami, Good Friday, Bihu, the birth anniversary of freedom fighter and Congress leader Jagjivan Ram, and the Telugu new year will be observed in April.
