Cryptocurrency price: Bitcoin, Ethereum register jump, Tether down marginally

Bitcoin increased by 2.7% and was trading at $39,346.23 while Ethereum rose by 7.8% and was trading at $2,800.98 in the last 24 hours.

New Delhi: The global cryptocurrency market cap jumped by 3.4 per cent to $1.86 trillion in the last 24 hours on Saturday.

The total cryptocurrency trading volume was recorded at $94.9 Billion in the past 24 hours, according to CoinGecko. The market dominance of Ethereum and Bitcoin was at 17.9 per cent and at 39.9 per cent, respectively.

The company is currently tracking 12,860 cryptocurrencies to decide the trading volume of digital currencies.

Bitcoin increased by 2.7 per cent and was trading at $39,346.23 while Ethereum rose by 7.8 per cent and was trading at $2,800.98 in the last 24 hours on Saturday.

In terms of the rupee, Bitcoin registered a surge of 2.5 per cent to reach 30,99,654. However, Ethereum is trading at Rs 2,20,188 after climbing by 5.64%.

XRP increased by 10.1 per cent to reach at Rs 60.63 in the last 24 hours, followed by Cardano 7.36 per cent at Rs 72.35 in the last 24 hours, Avalanche (AVAX) 6.47 per cent at Rs 6394.33, Litecoin 5.71 per cent at Rs 8,685.06 and Axie (AXS) 4.72 per cent at Rs 4074.98 and Solana 3.57 per cent at Rs 7,304.01.

Shiba Inu (SHIB) climbed by 5.57 per cent to reach at Rs 0.001946 in the past 24 hours, while DOGE reached Rs 10.003 with hike of 4.29 per cent.

On the other hand, Tether was trading Rs 78.64 due to a loss of 0.19%.

Besides, it is not important to note that cryptocurrency is a legal currency in India. RBI governor Shaktikanta Das said it is a threat to the financial stability of India.

Das confirmed on February 10 that RBI will launch its own digital currency or digital rupee by the year 2022-23.

He further added that there will be no difference between Digital Rupee and the normal rupee.
