Does Twitter need an Edit button? Investor Elon Musk & CEO Parag spar over ‘choice’

Owing to Musk’s mass following, his Tweet sparked off a storm with several people tweeting for & against the ‘choice’. Among the most prominent voice to this poll was none other than Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal.

New Delhi: A day after becoming the largest investor in the microblogging site Twitter, billionaire Elon Musk on Tuesday popped up a question, drawing immediate ‘disapproval’ from CEO Parag Agarwal.

Tesla CEO & SpaceX Founder revealed earlier this week that he has bought 9.2% stake in Twitter which amounts to $3billion. This also makes him the largest shareholder of the company with transnational presence.

On Tuesday, the billionaire investor started a poll on Twitter, asking – ‘Do you want an edit button?’ He also attached two options on his Twitter poll – ‘yse’ and ‘on’, both cleverly mistyped.

Owing to Musk’s mass following, his Tweet sparked off a storm with several people tweeting for & against the ‘choice’. Among the most prominent voice to this poll was none other than Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal.

“The consequences of this poll will be important. Please vote carefully”, Agrawal tweeted.

The reason behind Musk’s poll for an Edit Button on Twitter is the long-held demand of Twitter users who have been asking for an edit button to correct spelling errors.

The poll by SpaceX boss garnered huge traction, since Tuesday morning. His tweet has been retweeted 19K times, received 10K quote-tweets and 99K likes in just three hours.

Musk, himself being a prolific Twitter user, has over 80 million followers since he joined it 2009. Previously also, his tweets related to Tesla & Bitcoins created a flutter on the micro-blogging site and the billionaire seems to love it all the attention.
