Hinduja family tops Asian Rich List 2021 with £27.5 billion

The Asian Rich List celebrates the exemplary tales of success and releases the list of billionaires on yearly basis.

New Delhi: Hinduja family, the leading London-based NRI business tycoons, have once again topped the Asian Rich List 2021 with an estimated net worth at 27.5 billion pounds.

The reputed business group has continued to add to its wealth despite facing unprecedented challenges during Covid-19 pandemic & subsequent lockdown.

The group has witnessed rise in its wealth by £2.5bn, over the year, from £25bn. The Hinduja family, which run a conglomerate of international concerns, remain Britain’s wealthiest Asians.

According to the Asian Rich List 2021 released at the glittering Asian Business Awards on Friday, Gopichand and Srichand Hinduja occupied the numero uno spot while steel magnates Lakshmi Mittal & son Aditya Mittal bagged second spot with a worth of 14.2 billion pounds.

The glittering Asian Business Awards, which brings together community’s most successful business owners took place in the grand ball room of The Londoner on November 19.

This year, the glossy publication profiled about 101 companies who have added immense value & wealth in their businesses despite the pandemic. What’s remarkable is that the businesses have witnessed a steep rise of 21% in value at 99.5 billion pounds despite the pandemic enveloping the global economy in 2020.

Among the new additions joining the exclusive club this year are billionaires brothers Vijay Patel & Bhikhu Patel of Waymade plc. Despite one being pharmacist and other an architect, they joined hands in their endeavour and together stand at 11th spot in the list.
