Who is Gunjan Patidar? Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Zomato who resigned after 14 years

Zomato’s co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Gunjan Patidar resigned from the company after 14 years.

New Delhi: Zomato’s co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Gunjan Patidar has resigned from the food delivery platform in the latest series of top-level exits.

He tendered his resignation on Monday (January 2).

However, Patidar did not disclose the reasons behind his resignation.

According to his LinkedIn details, he was responsible for all tech verticals at Zomato and for nurturing tech talent and building strength to improve the design, development, and deployment of new products for customers.

Who is Gunjan Patidar?

Gunjan Patidar was among the first few employees of Zomato who also built the core tech systems for the company. Over the fourteen years, he also built a tech leadership team, said Zomato in a stock exchange filing.

In the stock exchange filing, Zomato also said that he was not key managerial personnel (KMP).

Earlier, co-founder Mohit Gupta resigned from the company. Rahul Ganjoo, Zomato’s new initiatives head, former food delivery chief and the head of its Intercity Legends service Siddharth Jhawar had also quit.

Rahul Ganjoo resigned after a five-years in November 2022 while Jhawar left in November to run adtech unicorn Moloco’s India operations.

Patidar was the fourth co-founder to exit the company, following Pankaj Chaddhah, Gaurav Gupta and Mohit Gupta.

Pankaj Chaddah had left in 2018 and Gaurav Gupta in 2021.

Before joining Zomato in December 2008, he worked at Cyient as a software engineer.

Patidar has his B. Tech degree from Delhi’s Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
