New Delhi: A day after achieving a historic milestone of 88.09 lakh COVID-19 vaccinations, a significant dip was recorded in the inoculation numbers as only 54.24 lakh vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours, according to an updated data of the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday.

A total of 29.46 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered under the ‘Nationwide Vaccination Drive’ so far.

As the new phase of universalisation of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from Monday, in a landmark achievement, 88.09 lakh vaccine doses were administered on the first day of the new phase beginning June 21. This is the highest single-day number of jabs in the world.

Meanwhile, it looks like Congress-ruled states are lacking to contribute to this biggest vaccination drive.

As per the report, Rajasthan administered just 0.92% on Day 1 and 0.82% on Day 2 of the total vaccine drive.

Chhattisgarh administered 0.51% on Day 1 and 0.62% on Day 2.

Punjab administered 0.44% on Day 1 and 0.54% on Day 2.

Maharashtra administered 0.43% on Day 1 and 0.63% on Day 2.

Jharkhand administered 0.42% on Day 1 and 0.46% on Day 2.

Whereas West Bengal administered 0.47% on Day 1 and 0.43% on Day 2.

On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh showed a 15% increase in daily vaccination on Tuesday as the state-administered 844,174 doses till 10pm.

COVID19 VACCINE

It is informed that more than 29.68 crore (29,68,27,450) vaccine doses have been provided to the states/UTs so far, through different channels namely, the Government of India through their free of cost channel and through direct state procurement category.
