Covid-19: Over 54 lakh frontline workers vaccinated, 20 crore tests completed till date

The Ministry said India is the fastest country to reach 5 million mark in COVID19 vaccination, as it finished the mammoth task in 21 days. The USA reached 5 million mark in 24 day, while the UK in 43 days and Israel in 45 days.

New Delhi: India is achieving new milestones in fight against the Coronavirus pandemic. At one hand, where India conducted a whopping 20 crore Covid-19 test while the number of frontline workers getting vaccine has crossed 50 lakh.

As per official reports, more than 54.16 frontline health workers have been administered Covid-19 vaccines in the country till date.

In last 24 hours, a total 4.57 lakh people were inoculated with Covid-19 vaccine doses, said the The Health and Family Welfare Ministry. The number of beneficiaries being vaccinated every day has shown a consistent and progressive increase.

The Ministry said India is the fastest country to reach 5 million mark in COVID19 vaccination, as it finished the mammoth task in 21 days. The USA reached 5 million mark in 24 day, while the UK in 43 days and Israel in 45 days.

On the sample testing of Covid infected patients, the nation created a record of sorts by crossing 20 crore total cumulative COVID-19 tests. Out of 20 crore total tests, 7,40,794 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.

“With 2,369 testing labs in the country including 1,214 government laboratories and 1,155 private laboratories, the daily testing capacity has got a substantial boost. The cumulative positivity rate is also declining and presently pegged at 5.39 per cent,” it said.

Meanwhile, the country’s COVID-19 recovery rate reached 97.19% with total recovery of over 14 thousand within 24 hours.

The Ministry said, more than 1.05 crore patients have already recovered from this disease. Active cases of Covid-19 are on a continuous declining trajectory in the country.
