Delhi Police launches tele-service for its staff, can seek Covid-19 related medical advice

Delhi Police, SHOs have started a system of tele-advice. In this system, SHO and unit heads maintain a panel of names of doctors who can give their advice to a Delhi Police personnel through teleconferencing.

New Delhi: With many Delhi police personnel being tested positive for Coronavirus, the city police has launched a tele-advice service for its staff, where they can seek medical advice for themselves and their families as well.
Since police personnel are prone to high risk of viral infection given the very physical nature of their work and frequent public interaction, it’s a welcome initiative to safeguard them from the pandemic.

Delhi Police, SHOs and unit heads have started a system of tele-advice. In this system, SHO and unit heads maintain a panel of names of doctors who can give their advice to a Delhi Police personnel through teleconferencing between the SHO/Unit head, Doctor and the police person. They can seek advice for themselves and for their family which often get ignored since they are too engrossed in their work. The medical fraternity has assured their full support for this initiative. Several doctors who despite working so hard in the frontline have volunteered for the programme.

This initiative, apart from providing round the clock tele-advice to police personnel, will also help by reducing the need for avoidable Corona virus tests and hospital admission. The initiative will reassure the police personnel that proper advice and guidance is available real time for them and their families.
