
Serum Institute reduces Covishield price to Rs 300 for states
New Delhi: Adar Poonawalla on Wednesday announced that the Serum Institute of India has reduced the price of the jab for state governments to Rs 300 from Rs 400 earlier.
“As a philanthropic gesture on behalf of @SerumInstIndia, I hereby reduce the price to the states from Rs.400 to Rs.300 per dose, effective immediately; this will save thousands of crores of state funds going forward. This will enable more vaccinations and save countless lives,” SII CEO Adar Poonawalla tweeted.

The third phase of vaccination will begin from May 1 which will allow everyone above the age of 18 to be get the vaccine against coronavirus
SII had earlier priced it’s COVID-19 vaccine at Rs 400 per dose for state governments and Rs 600 per dose for private hospitals.
