ABVP writes to UGC Chairman, demanding re-opening of UGC-NET application portal

Due to technical problems and glitches in the website a day before the deadline date, students from different states of the country have not been able to apply for the UGC-NET exam proposed to be held in June.

New Delhi: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad wrote an application to the Chairman of the University Grants Commission on Wednesday, demanding that the portal be re-opened for the application of the National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET)-June, so that the students who failed to apply for this examination get an opportunity to apply. Due to technical problems and glitches in the website a day before the deadline date, students from different states of the country have not been able to apply for the UGC-NET exam proposed to be held in June.

It may be noted that the last date for completing the application process for UGC NET was May 31, but due to technical difficulties, the application portal stopped working on May 30 itself, due to which the students had to face various problems in the application process. For these obvious reasons, it is very important to open the portal for re-application.

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad’s National general secretary Yagywalkya Shukla, said, “The UGC NET application portal should be re-opened keeping in view the wider interests of the students; otherwise, students will have to wait for an additional 6 months. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad demands to re-open the registration, so that the students who have failed completing the application process due to technical glitches at the last moment, can complete the process. UGC should take a quick decision in this context.”
