CBSE revises exam pattern in new Assessment Scheme for academic year 2022-2023

CBSE said the student will be asked questions from the entire syllabus as per the CBSE Curriculum 2022-23 in the final examinations. 

New Delhi: In the latest development, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the Assessment Scheme for the next academic year. CBSE also issued an official notice in this regard. The student for the year 2022-23 or 10th, 12th Board Exam 2023. According to the notice, the student of the next assessment year will have to take the test as per the changed examination pattern.

However, the board has said that there would not be any change in the one-term or one board examination pattern. It also said the student will be asked questions from the entire syllabus as per the CBSE Curriculum 2022-23 in the final examinations.

Notably, the board has decided to modify the exam pattern. In the year 2023, the student of the CBSE 10th class will have to attempt 40% MCQs or multiple-choice questions. The 20% questions would be competency base. The remaining 40% exam will be based on the subjective or short/long answer type format.

The students of class 12th will get 30% competency-based questions, 20% objective or MCQ, and 50% long/ short type answers.

Besides, the board is planning to release the Sample Papers for the students to get a clear picture. Notably, the curriculum has already been released by the Board, which is not divided into terms.

Meanwhile, the exams for the ongoing academic session of 2022 are underway. On May 24, the students of class 10 board exams will take their last test while class 12 Board Exam 2022 would complete on June 15, 2022.

The assessment criteria for CBSE Results 2022 is mostly likely not to be changed.
