Reportedly, the exams will be conducted in two shifts. Shift 1 will take place from 9 AM to 12 noon whereas shift 2 will take place from 3 PM to 6 PM. The exam will continue for 180 minutes and no break will be given in between Paper 1 and Paper 2.

UGC-NET is conducted twice a year. Owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, December 2020 UGC-NET was postponed and the scheduled June 2021 UGC-NET was delayed. Thus, to regularise the UGC-NET cycles, the National Testing Agency, with the concurrence of UGC, has merged both the UGC-NET of December 2020 and June 2021 cycles, to conduct them together in CBT mode.
