5 action thrillers lined up to release this week on Netflix, Prime, Zee5 and others

The sci-fi blockbuster is based on Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel considered one of the most influential books of the 20th century

New Delhi: Last month in February 2022, one of our OTT giants presented us with the biggest Hindi thriller of the year, in form of Yami Gautam’s ‘A Thursday’.

While the desi audiences enjoyed the suspense and thrilling aspects of the film, Yami and Neha Dhupia’s never-before fierce avatar has been beyond expression.

In terms of International content, ‘How I Met Your Father’, which is a spin-off series of the Emmy-winning sitcom ‘How I Met Your Mother’, is now available for streaming for Indian viewers.

Meanwhile, here we’ve brought you a set of five action-thriller, lined up to stream on multiple OTT platforms this week.

1. Parallels

Release Date: March 23

“Parallels” follows four teenagers, whose lives are turned upside down when a mysterious event propels them into parallel dimensions. They will do everything to understand what happened and try to get back home.

2. Halo

Platform: Voot

Release Date: March 24

The story is set in the 26th century, focusing on the adventures of Master Chief (Pablo Schreiber), a cybernetically enhanced super-soldier known as a Spartan that defends humanity under the orders of the United Nations Space Command.

3. Bheemla Nayak

Platform: Aha Video, Disney+ Hotstar

Release Date: March 25

Things change when the egos of an upright police officer and a retired army havildar clash. After its initial theatrical release, the film is all set to mark its OTT premiere. The Telugu language movie features Pawan Kalyan, Rana Daggubati, and other prominent actors in the lead roles.

4. Dune

Platform: Amazon, Book My Show, iTunes, Google Play, Youtube, Hungama

Release Date: March 25

Directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, the sci-fi blockbuster is based on Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel considered one of the most influential books of the 20th century and credited with inspiring many of the greatest films of all time.

5. Valimai

Platform: Zee5

Release Date: March 25

Touted to be “India’s biggest action thriller”, the film is set to hit the theatres on February 24, 2022.
The film, which stars Ajith Kumar and Huma Qureshi in lead roles, will release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada.
