The film is set against the backdrop of the Indian partition in 1947 and will portray the events that took place in Lahore, Pakistan. It will be directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi, who is known for his work in the Bollywood industry. Aamir Khan has expressed his excitement about the project and has stated that he is looking forward to working with Sunny Deol.
