New Delhi: Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez has hit the headlines after a photo with conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar surfaced online and went viral within minutes of its share, weeks after the former denied her involvement with any kind of relationship with the conman. Shared by India Today, the picture shows Sukesh kissing Jacqueline’s cheek while both of them pose for a mirror selfie. Reportedly, the photo was taken during his interim bail in the months between April-June.
According to the report, the phone used for taking a selfie was the same on which Sukesh carried out the scam.
Jacqueline involved herself with another controversy in October concerning a money laundering case associated with Sukesh. She was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate as well. Meanwhile, Sukesh’s lawyer reported to the media that the actress was dating conman. Jacqueline’s spokesperson came out with a statement denying her involvement with him or his wife, actress Leena Maria Paul.
In a statement, Jacquline’s spokesperson said, “Jacqueline Fernandez is being called to testify as a witness by the ED. She has duly recorded her statements and in future will also be completely co operating with the agency in the investigations. Jacqueline also categorically denies alleged slanderous statements made about relationship with the involved couple.”
Besides, lawyer Anant Malik who represent Sukesh reported, “Jacqueline and Sukesh were dating, these are my instructions, this is straight from the horse’s mouth.”
For the unversed, Sukesh who is also known for duping money from people by promising them jobs is popularly called by the name Balaji. Posing as the relative of a politician, Sukesh duped over 100 people and cheated them to the tune of Rs 75 crore. According to Asianet News, in 2011 Sukesh and his girlfriend were arrested by the police for cheating Chennai-based Canara Bank. However, they were later released on bail. Sukesh still did not mend his ways afterward.
In 2017, Sukesh was arrested from a hotel in the famous Election Commission (EC) bribery case. Reportedly, he took money from AIADMK (Amma) leader T T V Dhinakaran to bride EC officials associated with a problem over the AIADMK “two leaves” poll symbol.
