New Delhi: Hrithik Roshan’s superhero franchise ‘Krrish’ was one of its kind in Indian cinema and the actor is set to return with his costume and mask in ‘Krrish 4’. Reportedly, the makers have found the director to make the film and ‘Agneepath’ director Karan Malhotra will be the captain of the ship. As per the reports, Sidharth Anand will be producing the film.
While an official confirmation is awaited, as reported by LetsCinema and Peeping Moon, the film will soon go on the floor with Karan Malhotra as the director.
The film was initially announced in 2016 and was set to be released in 2018, but the venture seemed to have been dropped. However, this is good news for ‘Krrish’ fans as their superhero is set to make a return. The last film in the franchise, ‘Krrish 3’, was released back in 2013.
The franchise began with ‘Koi… Mil Gya’ in 2003 starring Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta. ‘Krrish’ and ‘Krrish 3’ revolved around Krishna, born with extraordinary strength in his genes, and also star Priyanka Chopra.
The prequels were directed by Rakesh Roshan and the franchise will witness a new director and a new approach to the story. Fans might see Krishna and Sonia’s son who was shown with similar extraordinary abilities like his father.
The film is likely to be shot in 2024 after Hrithik wraps the shoot for his upcoming film ‘War 2’. For the record, Sidharth Anand helmed ‘War’ while the sequel will be directed by Ayan Mukerji.
Karan Malhotra’s last venture was Ranbir Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor starrer ‘Shamshera’, which could not do well at the box office, nor did it earn positive word of mouth from audience and critics.
