New Delhi: Bollywood actress-turned-politician Nagma has taken to Twitter to praise Santosh Anand, legendary Bollywood lyricist who once penned hits like – Ek Pyar Ka Nagma (Shor) and Tera Sath Hai Toh (Pyaasa Sawan).
His recent appearance on Indian Idol 12 has moved and touched everyone deeply.
Nagma, who appeared to have watched the particular episode, wrote, “So touched to See Santosh Anand Ji lyricists on Indian idol he wrote “Ek Phyar ka Nagma hai “ his Son&daughter in Law committed suicide . Said his Son was born after 10yrs of Mannat.He says Hosla nahin tuta hai tang tuti hai. Pls never forget this song of his keep him alive always (sic).”

On the other hand, Singer Neha Kakkar, who happens to one of the judges of Indian Idol was inconsolable and has offered help to Santosh Anand with a sum of Rs 5 lakh.

Santosh Anand is a legendary lyricist who started his career with the film Purab Aur Paschim in 1970. The soundtrack of the film was composed by musical duo Kalyanji-Anandji. He penned the lyrics for his most popular song, Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai, in 1972 for the movie Shor. The song was sung by Mukesh and Lata Mangeshkar. He has also written songs for films like Kranti, Pyaasa Sawan and Prem Rog.
