New Delhi: One of the most talented singers Ali Zafar is celebrating his birthday today. The singer was born in a Punjabi family in Lahore. Both his father and mother were Professors in the Punjab University. He has two brothers. Ali Zafar graduated from the Government College of Lahore. Not many people are aware that he started his career as a sketch artist in a Hotel and later started working in television shows.

The Pakistani Singer sung for the first time for the film ‘Shararat’ in 2003. He also made his debut as a musician with the album ‘Huqqa Pani’. The album was a huge success. The album won many awards and nominations. Over 5,000 000 copies of the album were sold worldwide. This made him one of the most popular singers of Pakistan.
Ali Zafar released his second album in 2006. This too was a huge success and added another feather in the success journey of the singer. Zafar is currently the fourth Pakistani artist after Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam whose songs have featured in Hollywood films. The iconic singer also won the Lux Style Awards 2007.

The Singer was also offered a role in the film ‘Khuda Ke liye’ but he couldn’t accept it due to personal reasons and the role was taken by Fawad Khan. He made his Bollywood debut with the film ‘Tere Bin Laden’ in 2010. He played the role of a Pakistani Journalist in the film who makes a fake video of Osama Bin Laden so that he could go to America.
The film was a commercial success in India but was banned in Pakistan. Zafar was the first Pakistani to be called in the Indian Film Festival in 2011 for the screening of his film. Ali Zafar married his long time girl friend Ayesha Fazli who is a distant relative of Aamir Khan. The couple is blessed with a boy and a girl.
