Alia Bhatt’s Darlings to get a remake in Tamil and Telugu: Reports

The producer and COO further added, “The story remains the same, but we will localize it. Darlings was a story set in Mumbai, but now, we will create a different world for Tamil and Telugu. We localise the characters and their reactions.”

New Delhi: Alia Bhatt’s Darlings is currently streaming on Netflix and has wowed the audience all over. Besides, critics have highly praised the exceptional acting of Vijay Varma and Shefali Shah. After its tremendous success, the makers of the film are all set to make the film in two more languages including Tamil and Telugu. However, the film won’t be dubbed in these regional languages but the makers would localise the story and characters in Tamil and Telugu.

Darlings to get a remake

While talking to Pinkvilla, the COO of Red Chillies Entertainment, Gaurav Verma confirmed the development. “We had the script of Darlings with us for a while now and through the journey of making it, we decided to make it in multiple languages. The film has a certain landscape that can be adapted very well in multiple languages. The process is on as we speak,” stated Gaurav.

About Darlings

Darlings starred Alia Bhatt in the lead role along with Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Mathew. Alia made her debut as a producer under Eternal Sunshine Productions. She co-produced with SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment. The movie was directed by Jasmeet Reen, the film was released on Netflix on August 5, 2022.
