Ayushmann Khurrana to start training for Sourav Ganguly’s Biopic

Sourav Ganguly, better known by his nickname Dada, will be portrayed by Ayushmann Khurrana in an upcoming biopic.

New Delhi: Ayushmann Khurrana, who will play Sourav Ganguly in the planned biopic, reportedly plans to start training for the part next month.

Everyone has been curious about the casting of the main role in the biopic of former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly ever since he announced it. There were rumours earlier this year that ‘Dream Girl’ actor Ayushmann Khurrana or ‘Rockstar’ actor Ranbir Kapoor might play Dada in the film. Later that month of May, news spread and it was reported that Ayushmann Khurrana had really been secured the part.

Ranbir Kapoor told The Times of India, during his visit to Kolkata in February for a friendly game of cricket with Sourav Ganguly at the Eden Gardens, “I think Dada is a living legend, not just in India, around the world. And a biopic on him will be very special. Unfortunately, mujhe yeh film offer nahi huyi hai…”

According to the most recent reports, Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth’s directorial debut will begin filming in December. Sourav Ganguly, better known by his nickname Dada, will be portrayed by Ayushmann Khurrana in an upcoming biopic.

Ayushmann, who is renowned for giving his all in every part he plays, will begin intensive training next month to portray Dada, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, on the big screen. Since Ayushmann Khurrana, like Sourav Ganguly, bats left-handed, he may have an easier time getting ready to bat. However, in order to replicate Ganguly’s distinctive batting posture, gestures, and more, he will need extensive instruction.

It’s been stated that Dada is actively engaged in the filming of the movie and has even met the actor cast to portray him. It is unclear, however, if the film would begin production in Mumbai or in Dada’s hometown of Kolkata.

Ayushmann Khurrana is now enjoying great success because of Dream Girl 2, in which he plays Pooja.
