New Delhi: Days after the release of Pawan Kalyan starrer Bro the Avatar and MS Dhoni’s maiden production LGM, Rajesh Neelam’s romantic drama Baby has continued to show its dominance at the southern box office by managing to pull a decent crowd to the theatres even on its 17th day.
The Ananad Deverakonda starter, which has already clocked a whopping sum of Rs 72 crore in its 17 days-long theatrical run, is not appearing to come to a halt anytime soon and is likely to continue its dream run at the box office in the following days.
Baby OTT release
While the movie continues to impress the audience on the big screens, rumours regarding its OTT release have also spread like wildfire all over social media. The rumoured news made many believe that OTTians will soon be able to enjoy the movie on OTT as it is all set to premiere on the digital platform Aha Video on 18th of August.
However, the movie’s producer SKN recently broke their silence and crushed all the rumours circling around Baby’s OTT release in mid-August. SKN made it very clear that they have no plans to drop the movie on OTT platform anytime soon and in order to watch the movie, one will have to walk towards the nearest theatre.
Meanwhile, Baby’s director Rajesh Neelam also opened up about the movie’s OTT release and confirmed that Aha and the moviemakers have jointly decided to postpone Baby’s OTT premier to mid-September.
Considering the movie’s box office success and hype, the decision of the makers to keep its OTT release on hold makes very much sense as it will compel the moviegoers to watch the movie in theatres and the same will positively impact its lifetime box office collection.
About Baby
Written and directed by Sai Rajesh, Baby tells the tale of two neighbours from a village (Vaishnavi and Anand) who are madly in love with each other since their childhood. However, as Anand fails to make it to the college and ends up as an Auto driver, Vaishnavi’s behaviour drastically changes after getting exposed to the urban lifestyle in her college and she even starts developing feelings for one of her rich classmate Viraj.
When Ananad starts to get problematic over Vaishnavi’s growing closeness with the new guy and tries to win her over again, an unexpected event occurs and changes the perception of love, commitment and loyalty for all three of them forever. What happens next is the remaining story of the film.
In its stellar cast, the movie features Anand Deverakonda, Viraj Ashwin, and Vaishnavi Chaitanya in the leading roles.
