Border 2: Sunny Doel declines rumours, tells that he is not a part of any such movie

Border’s turbaned soldier reacted to the ongoing rumours and said that he has not signed any such movie.

New Delhi: As Sunny Doel returned on the big screens as Tara Singh with his latest movie Gadar 2, packed theatres welcomed the actor and made his nostalgic film an all-time blockbuster in less than a week.

Now, following the immense success of Gadar 2, reports regarding Sunny’s return with the sequel to his 1997 blockbuster Border 2 are circulating all over social media.

Border 2 is not happening

As per the reports, Border’s director JP Dutta, after getting impressed with Gadar 2’s success, has approached Sunny to work with him for Border’s sequel. The same reports further claimed that the filmmakers will be soon making an official statement about the movie in the coming days.

However, the talented director soon crushed all the ongoing rumours around Border 2 and made it clear that he has no plans to bring a new sequel to his movie and all the reports claiming the same are utterly rubbish. A close source of JP also put an end to the speculations about border 2 by saying that the director has not even met with Sunny Doel in the past few years.

‘I have not signed any film’

Soon after Dutta cleared the air, Border’s turbaned soldier Sunny Deol also reacted to the ongoing rumours and said that he has not signed any such movie.

Taking to his Instagram handle, the 65-year-old actor wrote, “Some news has been circulating of me signing a few films, I would like to inform you that currently I am only concentrating on Gadar 2 and receiving all your love. I have not signed any film and would be announcing something special soon at the right time. Till then keep showering your love on Tara Singh and Gadar 2.”

Sunny’s rift with JP Dutta

Despite Border becoming the highest-grossing movie of 1997, Sunny and JP Dutta parted ways with each other and have not worked together ever since. JP was even turned down by Sunny when he tried to approach him to rope him in for his 2003 movie LOC Kargil.

Before Border, Sunny Doel and JP Dutta worked together in two movies titled Yateem and Kshatriya.
