Brahmastra 2: Ranveer Singh is reported to play Dev, Shiva’s father Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer

New Delhi: Fans have been waiting with bated breath for the release of Brahmastra: Part Two—Deva since the first instalment, Brahmastra: Part One—Shiva, was released.

Everyone was quite curious about the casting of Dev, Shiva’s father, throughout the conversations regarding different aspects of the film. Some speculated that Shah Rukh Khan may play Dev, while others said that Ranbir Kapoor might play two roles. While rumours of Ranveer Singh’s possible casting persisted, the actor has yet to confirm the news. Nevertheless, as per the News18 report, the actor has reportedly confirmed that he will portray the highly awaited role in the next film.

The highly awaited second instalment of the Brahmastra series will include Ranveer Singh as the character Dev, according to director Ayan Mukerji.

They have confirmation that the actor will play Dev in Brahmastra Part 2 from an authoritative source. The role’s contract is now officially signed by him. The second instalment is now in the screenplay creation phase, although production is expected to begin in 2025.

The actor is slated to begin shooting Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s picture in mid-2024, barring any unforeseen circumstances. Part 2 of Brahmastra was supposed to premiere in 2025, although it might be pushed back if Don 3 launches around the same time. It’s worth mentioning that Deepika Padukone will portray Shiva’s mother Amrita as seen in the first instalment.

Ranveer-Deepika and Ranbir-Alia are the first Bollywood off-screen couples to appear together in a film.

The highly-budget fantasy ‘Astraverse’ series kicked out with Brahmastra Part 1, and two more instalments are scheduled for 2026 and 2027, respectively. Along with his newfound love, Isha, the protagonist Shiva embarks on a journey to learn the source of his abilities.

Along with Ranbir and Alia, the strong cast also features Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy. The picture was the highest-grossing film of 2022 and received an incredible amount of positive feedback.

Produced by Star Studios and Dharma Productions, the picture had a global gross of more than 400 crore rupees.
