New Delhi: Brahmastra was definitely a movie that performed better than expected in theaters. No matter how much criticism it generated around the cringy storyline and VFX, the movie still earned a whopping 418 crore sum worldwide.
Ayan Mukherjee’s Brahmastra: Part 1 Shiva’s media rights have been bought by Disney Plus Hotstar for 85 crores.
And now, there has been a considerable time since the movie was released in theaters, it can hit OTT sooner than imagined.
Brahmastra OTT release date
Brahmastra has started streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar from today i.e 30th January. On OTT, it is available in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannad,a and Tamil.
The film Brahmastra will apparently have 3 parts in total. After the success of Part 1- Shiva, the second part is set to release in 2025.
Brahmastra OTT platform
Since Disney plus Hotstar has bought the streaming rights of Brahmastra part 1, it can be streamed on Disney plus Hotstar from now onwards.
Usually, a movie takes 5-6 weeks from its release to get on any OTT platform but for Brahmastra there has been a huge delay.
The reason for this is that the creators have been reluctant to release the film OTT. Brahmastra is a fantasy fiction with a lot of VFX. This is why the movie was released in 3D in theaters so that the adventurous scenes can be enjoyed best. The same effect is hard to achieve on OTT.
However, even then, the movie gets an OTT release before the second part comes so that those who missed part 1 in theaters can still enjoy the full sequence.

Brahmastra is a star-filled fantasy delight.
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are the main cast while Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Naga Arjuna Akkinenni are also playing vital roles.
Shahrukh Khan also has a cameo in the movie.
