‘Chak De India’ actor Rio Kapadia passés away at 66

In his vast cinematic experience, the actor starred in many movies in 1990s as well and was also seen in latest on OTT releases. His role in ‘Khuda Haafiz ‘, ‘The Big Bull’, ‘Agent Vinod’ drew him good appreciation.

New Delhi: Rio Kapadia, the Bollywood actor of ‘Chak De! India’ fame has passed away. He was 66 years old. The actor has worked in several well-acclaimed films but his role in Shah Rukh’s 2007 movie earned him many accolades & admiration from moviebuffs.

The news of actor’s demise was shared by his friend Faisal Malik.

Actor’s cremation will take place in Goregaon’s Shiv Dham Shamshan Bhumi on September 15 (tomorrow) at 11 AM. He is survived by his wife, Maria Farah, kids Aman and Veer.

The news of veteran actor’s demise resulted in a wave of mourning in the Hindi film industry.

Rio’s roles on silver screen & TV

Apart from ‘Chak De! India’, Rio Kapadia also acted in other notable films like ‘Happy New Year’, ‘Mardaani’ and more.

In his vast cinematic experience, the actor starred in many movies in 1990s as well and was also seen in latest on OTT releases. His role in ‘Khuda Haafiz ‘, ‘The Big Bull’, ‘Agent Vinod’ drew him good appreciation.

In his latest stint, he was seen in one episode of ‘Made in Heaven 2.’

He was also prominent face in TV shows like ‘Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke and ‘Siddharth Tewary’s ‘Mahabharat’.

The actor also had active social media presence, where he used to share his travel pictures. In June this year, he shared his pictures of Paris holiday.

Sharing photos from Paris trip, he wrote, “Back again to the final leg of the European trip! Back to Paris. Had to see Paris in the eve from the Eiffel tower and have some last dinners in the beautiful city.”
