As per industry insiders, the film is slated to make its OTT debut approximately 6-8 weeks after its theatrical release. With a tentative release window in mid-November or early December, viewers will have the opportunity to relish this cinematic extravaganza from the comfort of their own homes.
Chandramukhi 2 Storyline
Chandramukhi 2 revolves around a story borrowed from its prequel, which was itself a remake of the movie ‘Manichithrathazhu’ starring Mohanlal and Shoban. The plot follows the elopement of Radhika Sarathkumar’s daughter with her husband, causing disapproval from their families due to their intercaste marriage. Unfortunately, a tragic accident claims the lives of the daughter and son-in-law, leaving behind two children. Raghava Lawrence’s character, Pandian, becomes the caretaker of these children.
Radhika’s family has been facing one tragedy after another, prompting them to seek solace through a spiritual guru who advises them to visit their family deity and perform a ritual called pooja. For the pooja to be effective, the grandchildren also need to be part of it. The family decides to visit the infamous Vettaiyapuram palace, known for its dark history. This palace was once the backdrop for the story of Ganga, played by Jyotika, who suffered from split-personality disorder and assumed the identity of Chandramukhi, a dancer. The palace, owned by Vadivelu’s character, is haunted by the spirits of Chandramukhi and Vettaiyan. The events that unfold in the palace and their impact on Radhika and her family form the core of the story.
