New Delhi: Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty’s second collaboration Cirkus got a lot of headlines but for all the wrong reasons. The colossal disaster of a movie disappointed the audience, making it one of the historical flops of Bollywood.
Released on 23rd December, the movie folded with just 20.85 cr in the first week. It also marked that 2022 overall remained a dry spell for Hindi films.
After such subpar commercial performance, streaming platform Netflix, who brought rights to Cirkus, seems in no mood to resuscitate the super flop on OTT.
The Period-Comedy flick was slated to release on Netflix in the first week of January. But we are already 25 days in January and there is no sight of Cirkus on OTT.
Some reports are saying that its release has been delayed till March. The reason for this is stated to be the release of big players like Pathaan and Mission Majnu. In front of which, a disaster like Cirkus would lose any slim chances of reviving itself on OTT either.

Besides Ranveer Singh, who marked his 3rd flop in a row with Cirkus, the comedy film stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hedge, Johny Liver, Varun Sharma, and Sanjay Mishra.
Many experts said that the clash with Avatar 2 was also a major reason for Cirkus’ demise at the box office. Avatar 2 conquered Indian theaters and became the 2nd most grossing Hollywood film.
Cirkus’s failure might pull the brakes on the duo of Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty as the two were expecting to repeat the blockbuster success of Simba.
While we can’t say that the OTT release of Cirkus is awaited, it is definitely being watched whether Netflix streams it at all. Even if you didn’t enjoy the movie at all, you can surely grab a box of popcorn while reading the comments under its trailer.
