Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 6 Review : “The Strongest of the Demon Slayer Corps”

Tanjiro’s intense training with the Stone Hashira pushes him to new heights as Muzan’s hunt for the Demon Slayer Headquarters heats up.

New Delhi: The latest episode of “Demon Slayer,” Season 4, Episode 6, titled “The Strongest of the Demon Slayer Corps,” has generated excitement among fans for its focus on character development and plot progression. The episode features protagonist Tanjiro Kamado undergoing grueling training under the Stone Hashira, Gyomei Himejima. In contrast to earlier, less effective training sessions, Tanjiro must perform three difficult tasks: standing beneath a waterfall, lifting logs, and moving a boulder. This is Himejima’s first significant introduction, and it shows Tanjiro’s development as he battles to overcome difficult obstacles.

Viewers were particularly interested in seeing Tanjiro develop his skills, as previous training sessions with other Hashira were considered largely unimpactful. The tasks assigned by Himejima—standing under a freezing waterfall, lifting heavy logs, and moving a massive boulder—are depicted as soul-crushingly difficult. Despite initial failures, Tanjiro’s perseverance and advice from fellow Demon Slayer Genya help him unlock new potential through a breathing technique that enhances his strength.

More About the Episode:

This episode also delves into the dynamics between Tanjiro and Genya, showing a softer side of Genya and their budding friendship. Additionally, it briefly checks in on the antagonist Muzan, who, along with the new Upper Moon 4 demon Nakime, continues the search for the Demon Slayer Headquarters.

Although Tanjiro’s development as a person was a highlight of the episode, critics pointed out that there were not many significant narrative developments. There was entertainment from Zenitsu and Inosuke’s comic relief, but the training sequences’ repetition made the overall rhythm feel a little off.

As the season nears its conclusion, fans hope for a stronger narrative push and more action-packed sequences. Despite its slower pace, the episode succeeded in deepening character arcs and setting the stage for the final episodes. New episodes of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” Season 4 are streamed on Netflix and Jio Cinema.
