New Delhi: Actor Diana Penty has joined the cast of Ribhu Dasgupta’s upcoming courtroom drama ‘Section 84’. The film already stars veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan in a pivotal role. Diana shared her excitement to share the screen with Mr. Bachchan and to work with talented filmmaker Ribhu Dasgupta.
Though the plot of the film is not known yet, Section 84 of IPC sheds light on the story as it deals with the crimes done by persons of unsound minds. The section considers nothing to be an offence that is done by a person who, at the time of doing the act, is incapable of knowing the nature of it due to unsoundness of mind.
Talking about the film, Diana Penty said that ‘Section 84’ is special to her and not just because it is a ‘riveting story’, but because she gets the privilege to work with Amitabh Bachchan, which is a dream come true moment for her. She mentioned that Ribhu Dasgupta has a clear vision of what he wants and she is happy in collaborating with him. Penty added that she knows that it will be an experience to remember and learn from the best.
This will be another courtroom drama added to Bachchan’s filmography after his critically acclaimed and widely lauded film ‘Pink’. In another film with Taapse Pannu, ‘Badla’, Amitabh Bachchan played a lawyer. His fans would be interested to see what new he offers with his craft in the upcoming courtroom drama.
On the work front, Diana was last seen in ‘Selfiee’ alongside Akshay Kumar, Emraan Hashmi and Nushrratt Bharuccha. She also has Sabir Khan’s ‘Adbhut’ in the pipeline.
