New Delhi: The much-anticipated trailer of ‘Dream Girl 2’, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, has been released on Tuesday, and it promises to deliver a roller-coaster ride of laughter and entertainment. Helmed by director Raaj Shaandilya, the film welcomes Ananya Panday as the new female lead.
‘Dream Girl 2’ serves as the spiritual successor to the 2019 hit film ‘Dream Girl,’ in which Ayushmann played a call center employee proficient in mimicking a female voice named Pooja. The original film, directed by Raaj Shaandilya, starred Nushrratt Bharuccha, Annu Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Vijay Raaz, and Abhishek Banerjee. It emerged as a blockbuster, amassing a staggering worldwide box office collection of ₹200 crore.
In this sequel, Ayushmann Khurrana’s iconic character Pooja takes a leap to an entirely new level. This time, he not only lends his voice to Pooja but also dons her persona, leaving the audience in splits as he playfully teases and tricks numerous men. The trailer showcases a lineup of esteemed comic actors, including Rajpal Yadav, Annu Kapoor, Asrani, and Paresh Rawal, adding to the film’s comic charm. In one of the humorous scenes, Annu Kapoor is seen hilariously waxing Ayushmann’s chest.

Initially slated for a July release, ‘Dream Girl 2’ faced a slight delay and is now set to hit theaters on August 25. The filmmakers explained that the extension was necessary to ensure the meticulous perfection of VFX work essential for the film.
Ektaa Kapoor, who co-produces the film, elaborated on the decision, saying, “We want Ayushmann Khurrana’s character to look perfect as Pooja in ‘Dream Girl 2’, and that’s why we are taking extra time to perfect the VFX work for the face. We want to ensure that our viewers get the best possible experience when they watch the movie. The VFX work for ‘Dream Girl 2’ is an integral part of the movie, and we want to ensure that we deliver a high-quality product to our audiences.”
