Drug Case: Ananya Panday leaves NCB office after questioning, called again tomorrow

Actor Shah Rukh Khan reaches Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail to meet son Aryan who is lodged at the jail, in connection with drugs on cruise ship case.

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Ananya Panday and her father Chunky Panday left the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) office after 2 hours of questioning. Ananya has been asked to appear before NCB once again for questioning, at 11 am tomorrow.

Earlier today, a team of NCB was seen at Bollywood actor Ananya Panday’s residence in Mumbai. She was summoned by the probe agency to appear before it at 2 pm today. Meanwhile, another team of NCB officials also visited Shah Rukh Khan’s residence ‘Mannat’ in Mumbai to collect documents related to his son Aryan Khan.

SRK visited his son Aryan Khan, who is lodged in Arthur Road Jail. Aryan was arrested on October 3 in connection with a drug seizure on a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast.

# We are trying to move the bail application in Bombay High Court today. The other two are also likely to move bail applications in the High Court today: Ali Kasif, Arbaaz Merchant’s lawyer.

# Senior lawyer Amit Desai, who represents Khan in the case, has arrived in the special court along with some junior lawyers. The court is expected to begin the hearing at around 2:30 PM, reports.

# The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), in its reply had filed in the special court said that the agency’s investigation has revealed Aryan Khan’s role in illicit procurement and distribution of contraband. ASG Anil Singh seeks more time to probe international link in the case.

# Lyricist and scriptwriter Javed Akhtar on Tuesday, in pretext of Aryan Khan’s case said to the media during an event, “I’ve not seen any headline on recovery of cocaine worth 1 billion dollars at a port but the recovery of charas or ganja worth 1.30 lakh, where only 1200 people were present, has become big national news. This is the price the film industry has to pay for being high profile because when you are so, people want to pull you down.”

#A Shiv Sena leader filed a petition in Supreme Court on Monday, seeking a judicial enquiry into affairs of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and its officials at Mumbai and to protect the fundamental rights of Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.

# Inside the Arthur Road jail, Aryan Khan has been served with meals cooked inside the prison only. Shahrukh Khan had sent him Rs 4,500 through money order last week.
