New Delhi: The upcoming ‘blockbuster’ movies Dunki and Salaar led by superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Prabhas have seen a fierce fight between their respective fan base. While the two camps cheer & root for their stars, the advance booking of two upcoming movies gives a good peek into what to expect on their opening.
As the numbers suggest, Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki has emerged as a clear winning in advance bookings. It has trumped Prabhas-starrer Salaar by a huge margin.
Existing figures show that Dunki has sold more than 1.46 lakh tickets worth around Rs 4.54 crore while Salaar is seen lagging behind at 3.74 crores. Both these figures were taken on Monday morning.
While Dunki is expected to set Rs 5 crore milestone on Day 1, ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’ is also catching up but it’s numbers are not alone for its Hindi release. Overall, it has sold about 1.56 lakh tickets, out of which the film’s Telugu 2D version sold a total of 85,627 tickets whereas its Malayalam 2D version sold 42,847 tickets, reported a leading daily.
Region-wise break-up in India
Much like the fan base of the two super heroes, the advance booking of Dunki & Salaar also shows strong contrast in their patronage.
As per numbers available on film trade portal Sacnilk, the strong advance booking for SRK’s Dunki happened in Hindi belts including Delhi, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Telangana, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir.
For Prabhas movie, the maximum advance bookings happened in Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh.
Advance bookings in US
The estimates by film distributors show Dunki taking massive lead in US markets also. While Dunki has crossed $200,000 in US advance booking for first day, Salaar has crossed $100,000 mark in North America. The estimates depict the details till Sunday.

Though, Dunki’s advance booking is much less as compared to SRK’s previous hit films Jawan & Pathaan, it is clearly ahead of its rival Salaar.
If Dunki shines at Box Office, it will mark hattrick of blockbusters for the King Khan while Salaar success would give a fresh fillip to Prabhas as the latter’s two big movies flopped at the Box office.
