Emraan Hashmi opens up on calling Aishwarya Rai ‘Plastic’, makes shocking revelations

Emraan recently graced the big screens with Salman Khan’s latest flick Tiger 3 which saw him playing the negative role of Aatish Rehman, the movie’s lead antagonist.

New Delhi: Koffee with Karan is easily the most controversial show in the country. Over the years, the popular chat show has seen several acclaimed personalities land in trouble due to the objectional remarks uttered by them while gracing its couch.

One such big controversy ignited in the DDLJ director-hosted show was when Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi made bold and unfiltered comments about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & same triggered a massive stir across social media.

It all happened in 2014 when Hashmi appeared in Karan Johar’s show accompanied by Mahesh Bhatt. During the show, the host did a quick rapid-fire section with the Dirty Picture actor and asked him who according to him is Bollywood’s plastic.

Replying to Karan’s question, Emran, without having a second thought, instantly took the name of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & the same left all the viewers in disbelief. Soon after, Emran’s words for the robot actress sent shockwaves across the entire film industry and caused the fans to brutally troll him on the internet.

Now, years after the controversy, the 44-year-old actor has finally broken his silence on the incident, claiming that it was the KWK’s unforgiving format that compelled him to say what he said. Speaking to Bollywood Life, the actor has revealed that host Karan Johar cut the shot during the rapid-fire session & the same left everyone on the set confused.

“When that rapid-fire round happened, Karan had cut the shot, and he just looked around on the set and everyone was dumbfounded. He asked ‘Can you actually keep this (Emraan’s answer)?’ And a couple of people behind the camera said ‘Yes.” He added.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Emraan recently graced the big screens with Salman Khan’s latest flick Tiger 3 which saw him playing the negative role of Aatish Rehman, the movie’s lead antagonist. He will be next seen in Karan Johar’s upcoming drama series Showtime which will arrive exclusively on Disney + Hotstar on March 8, 2024.
