New Delhi: After being postponed for several times in past, Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar’s upcoming film ‘Badhaai Do’ is all set to make its theatrical release in the forthcoming month of February.

On Tuesday, the makers unveiled the official trailer of the film, which highlights the revolutionary concept of lavender marriage (a marriage between a man and a woman for the purpose of hiding homosexuality).

Gopi, an arts and crafts professor, on his first day at work faces the task of saving the school which has been taken hostage by four radical social media activists.

2. Badhaai Do

Platform: Theatres

Release Date: February 11

In the movie, Bhumi Padnekar will be seen essaying the role of a 31-year-old physical education teacher, who is interested in women. She marries a cop named Shardul Thakur (Rajkummar) to escape the pressure of their families. The real twist in the story comes when Rajkummar’s character hints that he is also a homosexual.

3. Loop Lapeta

Platform: Netflix

Release Date: February 4

A remake of German hit ‘ Run Lola Run’, the Netflix film revolves around Taapsee as Savi caught up in a time loop, trying to save her ‘useless boyfriend’, essayed by Tahir Raj Bhasin.


4. Gehraiyaan

Release Date: February 11

Directed by Shakun Batra, the much-awaited movie looks beneath the surface of complex modern relationships, adulting, letting go and taking control of ones’ life path.

5. Gangubai Kathiawadi

Release Date: February 25

The period drama has been adapted from one of the chapters of noted author Hussain Zaidi’s book, ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’ and features Alia in the lead role of Gangubai, one of the most powerful, loved and respected madams from Kamathipura during the 1960s.
