New Delhi: Directed by Asif Kapadia and Joe Sabia, Federer: Twelve Final Days is a British documentary film. This is based on the life of Roger Federer, the most successful tennis player of all time. Federer has won 20 Grand Slam tournaments, two Olympic medals, millions of prize money, and is an endorser for many high-end products.
The upcoming documentary will focus on the Swiss-born player’s 2022 retirement from tennis. Prime Video has already released the teaser video and artwork for Federer: Twelve Final Days. Starting on June 20th, you may see it on Prime Video.
About the Documentary
This documentary covers the last twelve days of a legendary tennis player’s career as he competes in his last tournament. With an announcement made in 2022, Federer, at 41 years old, declared his retirement from competitive tennis.
It documents Federer’s last Laver Cup as a member of Team Europe. After he lost the match, his teammates and admirers said their heartfelt goodbyes. Despite his best efforts, the tennis legend—who competed for 24 years and won 20 grand slams—seems prone, even when he exerts control over his emotions.
Additionally, it includes his early youth, his beginnings on the tennis court, his enthusiasm, and his professional career in the grand slams of the sport from the beginning.
The documentary includes interviews with Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray, who are all renowned rivals and friends. These interviews provide a unique perspective on the relationships between the three athletes.
When and Where to Watch?
Reportedly, the film had its world debut on June 10, 2024, at the Tribeca Film Festival. June 13, 2024, was also the release date for the feature-length documentary in some limited theatres.
Amazon Prime Video will begin streaming this documentary on June 20, 2024, making it available to viewers in 240 countries and territories across the world.
