Feeling thrilled about ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ ? Here are 5 Bollywood road-trip movies you must watch

Soulful road trip, memories of past, old long-time friends, horses running in the meadows, underwater dive, finding love on a journey…

New Delhi: Farhan Akhtar, who has earlier entertained us with astonishing road trip movies ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ and ‘Zindagi na Milegi Dobara’, has announced his next such film ‘Jee le Zaraa’.  The Farhan Akhtar-directed film will star the trio of Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. The film written by Farhan, Zoya Akhtar, and Reema Kagti, will go on floors in 2023.

As ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ is set to be recreated, this time with all the woman lead, here are 5 Hindi road-trip films for you to binge watch with friends:

1) Karwaan

A guy stuck in an IT job, learnt about the death of his father, which leads him to a road trip along with his friend Shaukat (Irfan Khan), that further activates various twists and turns in the film. One could solely watch this movie for how each character in the film lives an entire lifetime in an unplanned journey.

2) Chef

The movie, though a remake of a Hollywood movie with the same name, will take you on a sweet-tangy ride and leave you emotionally surfeit by the end. Though it wasn’t a commercial success, Saif Ali Khan indeed delivered one of his best performances through this 2017 movie.

3) Highway

A film about all possible aspects of a journey. Freedom, bondage, danger, rush, fear, love, hills, roads, and the list goes on. It might not be the first movie that portrays a Stockholm Syndrome scenario, yet this beautiful film is a master piece by Imtiyaz Ali.

4) Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Soulful road trip, memories of past, old long-time friends, horses running in the meadows, underwater dive, finding love on a journey… this drive relax your mind and soothes your heart.

5) Piku

An easy going film, with a loving yet frustrated father-daughter relation. Absolutely terrific performances from Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Irfan Khan.
